Hinson Engine Mount replacement
I recently noticed alot of slop in the Vette as I do hard launches, also around highway speeds on a lower gear. I've decided to pull the trigger on hinson poly mounts after a quick inspection of the stock ones (leaking orange fluid), the trans mounts seem good however. Is it a must to replace all 4 mounts in your experience? I do drag racing and road courses often.
Thanks
Just recently I install a set brought in by customer which really impressed me as these don't have two integrated studs causing the need to rise the engine way high and dropping the cradle to get them in.
These have a pass true bolt unlike the Hinsons and the factory pieces so you cut off the studs on the old ones lift up engine slightly to pull then out get these (see attached) rite in place put the bolt true it and tight them up you are done.
The diff mounts can easily be replace when you have to do something else requiring to remove them unless they too are gone.
To check diff mounts with the car up in the air on floor jacks lift the diff with a floor jack 10 mm if you see no slack on the mounts and the suspension is coming up with it they should be good.
