Good morning, washed my car yesterday and when I went to start it the car was dead. Tried jumping and barely nothing. Gauges worked than didn't work. At times car doors would not release. Tried jumping again after disconnecting battery with better cables, nothing. Took battery out this morning and took it for test all good. Replaced and car started right up. I don't understand why jump start didn't work. Any thoughts?????
You have to think in terms of amps. Each car has a minimum amperage required to start (cold cranking amps). I'm a corvette newbie, so I'm not certain what the requirement for a c6 is, but I'm sure someone can chime in. You also have to consider factors that will inhibit those amps being transferred from one car to the other when jumping. Is the other vehicle providing enough amps? Do the clamps on your jumper cable have good solid connections on the battery posts? Are the jumper cables of good quality and length?

Thanks for the reply I did try 2 different sets of cables and two different cars. And as I said I took battery out and had it tested then put it back and car started.
Most likely bad contact between battery post(s) and cables. When you removed and replaced the battery you most likely "scraped" off some of the oxidation that may have prevented a clean contact surface. Always try to clean the battery posts and clamps as a first step.
What year is your car? Have you tried the other FOB? When the battery in the FOB is weak you will get intermittent starting issues. What are your dash lights doing? A weak FOB plays havoc on the security system which will keep the car from cranking..
Battery and alternator cables on the starter post nut could be loose. I just went thru this on my newly purchased 06. My car would crank hard (sometimes) plus the fact that I puked 2 alternators in the span of a week led me to believe something wasn't right in Kansas. When I put a socket on that nut I thought I had the wrong socket on as I was able to spin the socket with my fingers.
