I think the issue is whether or not it's 2.5 or 3 inch pipe. I have an automatic so I have to use 2.5". Found this out after I had already bought 3 inch. Long story short I retrofitted them to work. 3 inch pipe will work in the manuels since there's room. The 3" rubs auto tranny.
The only NPP exhaust that is a direct fit for model years 2005 - 2007 is a 2008 NPP. You can use a NPP from model years 2009 - 2013 but modifications will have to be made. I don't have all the details on what has to be modified. When I owned my 2007 Convertible, I wanted to change the stock exhaust to a NPP. When I did my research back then, that is what I was told by knowledgeable forum members. I didn't want to go through the cost and hassle having to modify my exhaust. The trick for me was finding a used 2008 NPP exhaust in good condition for sale. I found a couple but each time I thought I had an agreement with the seller, they sold it to another forum member that was willing to pick it up from the seller. I didn't have that capability based on where the seller was located. I finally gave up and lived with my stock exhaust.
As said, the only year NPP that is a direct fit for 2005-2008 is the NPP exhaust off of a 2008 model year. They changed in 2009. I bought a set off of a member here on the forum from his 2008 and it fit my 2006 (2 1/2 pipe) like a glove.
I believe that the only NPP that is 3 inch is for a Z06. 08 NPP is what I need for my friends 06.
That is how I remember as well, 08 NPP off a regular C6 with 2 1/2" fit great on my 06 with my American Racing 1 3/4 headers w/cats and sounded great to me. I also went with a mild to wild setup that I programmed to my home-link button on my visor.
