Default Friday Night Drags...

While placing in Friday night Drags tonight I for the first time Tried on the line our 2010 Grand sport
My Question is in sport mode do you start off in 1st and work through the gears or in Second and let it do as it may?
We have paddle shifters but without rev matching there isnt a good shift.
I did not do bad my time was 13.2 @ 112 mph First time on the Line. I beat a 2015 Stock 5.0 Mustang..

Hey Grey you did well congrats on the win did you have drag radials?

I race my car in drive or sports mode really makes no difference I have it tuned a little different in sport mode but mainly for driving around on street.

I don't use paddles at standing start track I use paddles to down shift on a rolling start and have it tune so that will change gears on it's own after.

Don't like to give paddles that much attention nor do I like to wait or guess shifting rpm sense actual shift happens 500 rpms or so later.

Can you use a tech 2 to do the programing or other means?

Is this a stock grand sport? I had my LS1 at the Vegas strip on Friday and ran a 12.5 @ 113. Over 2.xx 60ft time with street tires. So even more confident it could have been 11s with slicks. I make about 500 at the crank. Tires make a huge difference

Made my first drag passes in my 11 GS A6 in Vegas this past weekend as well. Best was a 13.30 @ 110 on 335/30/18 BFG Rival-S. Vette is completely stock other than T1 bars on tires. That run was letting it shift by itself. Using the paddles I was a little slower.

That was a lot slower than I expected, but so were most of the cars there. Is the dragtimes.com density calculator an accurate conversion? It shows my car would have hit 12.572 @ 116.407 MPH at sea level.

It was about 106 deg when I was running. I was a consistent 113mph with the 335 rivals too.
