hey guys just got back from taking my 2005 ls2 c6 6sp down the drag strip at the street car take over in Indy. This was my first time in the corvette I've been before but it's been a few years. Anyways I was able muster off a 12.6 at 113 with a 2.1 60ft on street tires (I realize terrible 60ft) but I was making my final pass and I tried to launch the car harder and had the clutch stuck to the floor issue..it did it just that one time and it's the only time it's happened since I've owned the car, drive home fine with me aggressively driving it all the way home. Car has full z06 manifolds-exhaust back and vararam CIA and a crap slp predator handheld tune, so I know it's got more then a 12.6 in it. I plan on going to the drag strip any tips other then changing the fluid to keep it from doing this again? I am going to be taking drag radials this time trying to cut my 60ft down and don't wanna run into this issue again.
I say not bad for not running recently and getting the feel for your first time in the corvette.
May want to check the clutch return spring, as they can break. Also, the masters for the clutch have this very same issue with staying on the floor.
I assume that you do know that the 2005 have the weaker diff and with drag radials, I would be cautious on the launch, especially if the rear starts to hop.

i did not know there was a clutch return spring I'll have to look into that and yeah I know from what I've read as long as you can keep it from hopping it'll be fine.

Yeah it wasn't too bad I didn't think I was able to muster a 2.0 60ft but best pass was on the 2.1 all passes were 12.6 or 12.7 car was getting faster each pass but was only able to make 5 passes in 6hrs unfortunately they have major priority to the single digit race cars

Thanks for the advice on this haven't checked to see if it's broke yet but after doing a lot of reading up I've decided to remove that spring and see how it feels possibly do a c5 spring swap
Save up and replace that rear diff asap if you plan to drag your car.
I have a broken 05' diff in the corner of my garage from a spirited launch on street tires. Closest corvette shop to me has a huge pile of broken 05' diff's out behind their shop.

defiantly concerned about breaking it but have seen that plenty of people don't break them. Seems like it's hit or miss not all are guarenteed to break

I have an 05 - what did you replace it with and the costs involved?
Judt checked this and the spring was actually broke
I think a lot of people may not have problems with the diff, but I think most are running the A4, being easier on the rear than a MN6.
The clutch master has been updated recently, I believe, may want to check into this if problems are not resolved.

seems like it's not a giant problem def something to worry about, seems like as long as your careful about it and not making monster power you'll be fine. Gonna run 555r nitto drags

I put in a zip performance 2006+ stage 3 with quaife, all parts rem polished and cryogened and an ECS bracket... this is the extreme upgrade, around $4k...
Later had RPM transmissions machine the diff pinion out to larger spline for my RPM stage 6 with z06 output transmission...
I would just recommend a stage 1 or stage 2 2006+ from RPM transmissions for most 2005 owners...
