Default Tire Size Question, Please Help ASAP!

I have ordered new tires for the rear of my 2005 C6 Corvette Convertible, I went with the NITTO NT05R 305/35/19 rear tires because I will be doing a few runs at the strip for fun. I have actual Z06 wheels on the car, meaning not just style but size as well so the 305 fit well and my current Pilot Sports are 305.

Now my question is on the front, I am going with NITTO NT05 275/?/18 tires, I think. These are my questions and choices. I can go with a 265/35/18 tire, or a 275/35/18 tire or a 275/40/18 tire. Stock front Z06 tires are 275 so I am leaning toward that. The question is do I go with 35 or 40?

The 35 is @ 25.5 inches tall which is what my Michelin are now. The 40's are @ 26.5, about an inch taller than my current size and the 35's.

So my question is this, should I go with 275/35/18 or 275/40/18 on the front. My car is low to the ground but not lowered so the extra inch would help, but then again, in performance, closer to the ground is better so the 35's would be better.

I have a tuner that can make any necessary adjustments if there are any, so no issue there.

Can anyone with specific knowledge tell me if I should do the 35 or 40 and why, and what is the advantage or disadvantages.

Thank you all in advance for all your help, you guys are always helpful.

Also, the tire Brand and Type is not in debate, only asking for help with the profile size and why one is better than the other if any difference at all, thanks again.

Rick

I rock a 255/35/18, the reduced tire revolution from the 40 you can defiantly feel...

What do you mean? Are you saying the taller tire, less revolutions feel better or worse, and can you describe what you mean. Thanks man, to keep proper I think I am doing 40 in front since I have 35 on the back, that's what factory was with the front taller so think I will too, plus they are cheaper, $25 for some reason.

Yes, less revs...less resistance to push ...the car rolls quicker...you can defiantly feel it on the butt dyno...i just went from 40s to 35s
