Default T56 with or without transmission cooler

Hi guys, I've been searching a while for this answer but can't seem to find anything. I bought a c6 and after a week the t56 blew up. A rebuild is going to cost an arm and a leg based on the damage. So that's out of the question.

Im on a serious budget finding a replacement, so im going to buy one used. The corvette t56 comes with or without a transmission cooler, and mine does have it, as I understand it is the KNP option.

What are the downsides to deleting the cooling system? Jeremy at tick performance told me it also ties into the diff cooler. Are these necessary or worth it for a much higher price?

The car is an 07.

Thanks.

Depends on car. If you are not road racing it, or doing extended high speed stuff (20+ minutes) then it can probably be skipped.

I removed mine off my z06 4-5 years ago.

You do need to be aware of the input shaft differences, tail shaft, etc. You need to make sure you get a compatible trans. There is actually a lot of differences between years. So you are probably limited to a 06-07 base trans if you want it to bolt up. z06 won't work, 05 won't work, later models won't work. (without swapping shafts or diffs)
