Default Service Charging System Issue

I have a 2005 Corvette and recently replaced the LS2 motor after having thrown a rod during a track event (Mid-Ohio). The new motor runs fine (until the battery drains), but I get a Service Charging System message on the DIC. If I start with a fully charged battery, after running the car the voltage slowly drops. Probably about .1V every 20 sec or so. I replaced the alternator, and had my battery tested at a local car parts store, both are good and I'm still having the issue. What are the next things I should check, and how to I check them?

I would check the nut on the starter that captures the wires from the battery and the alternator. Mine was loose this winter/spring and I killed 2 alternators before I found it. Sounds dumb but it was my problem.

Check all of the ground wires (make sure none are missing), including the one for the alternator, to make sure they are all connected.

I got the car on jack stands ready to start removing the starter. But first, I tighten the nut and started right up. I'm not 100% convinced that's it because it was way too easy. But, I'm hopeful. If it is the starter, it looks like I can get it around my Hinson Headers. Do you remove the two bolts on the starter first then the solenoid wires or remove the solenoid wires first?

Thanks for the replies!!!!
