Default engine swap from LS2 to LS3

i have a 2005 C6 that I want to upgrade to the Chevy Performance LS3 376 525 hp. do all the accessories brackets (alt. power steering etc.) bolt directly to this engine from the LS2 ? does the oil pan need changing ? thanks in advance!!

Much better options for less money

Acccessories are all the same. Only real difference is reluctor wheel. LPE makes a converter box that you'd need.

Agreed that there are better options.

Plus what are you wanting? If it is just more power, there are simple easy ways to get your ls2 way beyond 525hp at a fraction of the cost.

you don't state whether your car is stick or auto?if auto and 110 lsa of cam in that engine I would really like to see one tuned and running.any car that I have heard of running the LPE box has had problems with it

The MAF is also different, but Casper makes a cable adapter.

Trying to not hijack the thread, but I've got a 110+2 LSA cam in my LS7 and I'm running it with a 6L80E automatic. Granted, I do have a 4000 converter but it still has great drivability on the street.

Here's a clip of it idling with the straight pipes I just installed on the weekend:

To the OP (see, I'm back on topic again ) if you do end up going with a newer (2006+) engine, DO NOT let anybody talk you into the Lingenfelter conversion box which allows you to run a 58x reluctor engine in a 2005 and earlier car. I speak from direct experience when I say trust me and do it right by having the reluctor wheel of the engine match what's in your car.

Also, how much are you planning on spending on the LS3? The reason I ask is that you'd be surprised at how it's not very expensive to build an LS7 from scratch and having built several cars that way I'd definitely recommend considering it as an alternative.

Assuming the '05 is in good condition, selling it and purchasing a '08 or newer will provide a base for mods while also including several other upgrades, the least of which is a stronger rear axle to handle more power.

Tend to agree, at least go 2006, I wish I had. I've managed to somehow not have the rear end explode yet but sooner or later it probably will
