Default 05' c6 exhaust

hey guys i'm new to the forum here sadly. MY best friend passed away tragically over the weekend. I"m purchasing his car from his family to keep his memory and ride alive with me. I'd much rather have my buddy back instead but i couldn't let his love of his life go to someone who wouldn't treat it the way he would want.

With that being said, while he was in a bad spot he sold the corsa exhaust off his car. I would like to replace it and would really appreciate any opinions i can get. Looking to spend around $750.

Thanks fellas,
Jake

snakes sorry to hear about your good friend. Keeping his Corvette is the right thing to do in my opinion. Here is post in the forsale section that might interest you.

Since this is the way I went on both my c6 cars and I like the results I would do this again. I would buy a complete z06 exhaust. The Bi-Mode mufflers sound good. They sound really good when they have the mod done to them and still sound better than a stock base c6 exhaust when unmodded. You can get a complete (manifold to muffler) for $500, you gotta look. Plus this mod with a tune will net you around 40rwhp, a cat back for the stock exhaust will net you around 10 and cost you more.

What a story.

Anyway with an 05 I think there are two variables that make the exhaust specific to year 05 and perhaps 06 only.

Pipe diameter, and A4 (not A6) automatic transmission and the pipe routing around the trans.

Finding an OEM take off as a used part and then even buying new Magna Flow mufflers (if you want louder sound) could fit your budget.

Sad story, yet you have memories of your time together.

So I actually found the member on here who bought his corsa and he will sell it back to me. Pretty cool of him. Jaren always talked about a tune, I need to send the pcm out I'm assuming? If so, where do you recommend?

You can get it street or dyno tuned to get the most out of it. But cheaper and sending off the PCM off, I hear a lot of good things said about ECS (East Coast Supercharging) They are a vendor on here and have a pretty good price on can tunes. http://www.eastcoastsupercharging.co...ategory_id=461

There is a place here called beyond redline. I know they dyno tune, i know a guy who frequents there I'll get in touch and maybe he has a hook up there for me. If not I'll look into the vendor you suggested.

Thanks!!

They dyno tune will cost more than likely double than a can tune but if it doesn't have many modes the can tune will be just fine.

It's just has intake and I'll Be putting the corsa sport exhaust back on next week. I'd like to put headers on I haven't done much research yet. Do you have any suggestions to get me started? Long tube vs short was something Jaren always talked about.
