Hello all. I just drove from St. Louis MO to Amarillo TX to purchase my first vette. It's a 2007 base with 94k miles on it. Unknown headers and straight piped out the back by borla. Sounds amazing but with the straight pipe the check engine light is on. I don't want to change the exhaust as I love the rumble so is there a way around this? I also noticed upon picking up the car that the abs and brake lights are on. Apparently the dealership where I got it changed out the brake pump (?) And it is now under warranty from them. Any ideas there? A lot of work to do with this car as the tint is messed up, the interior has some work needed and there are several scratches and dings I would like to address but all in all an amazing vette for the purchase. Could not be happier I went with vette over jdm. Side note, anyone know anything about tuning?
Thanks for your time in advance!
Cali
Any tuner could shut off the engine light. Pull the codes and tell us what they are to confirm that is the issue. If you really wanted to do so, you could always purchase HPtuners and shut off the light yourself.
The brake light may be from a faulty or unplugged brake pedal switch. If you have a multi-meter you could check this out and let us know what you find.
Just to add here.. There are several vendors here who sell new headlamp lenses.

Thanks for the info omega. I was actually reading that a tune would shut off the light so I may go that route. Hard to see 500 bucks for the basic package slip through my fingers but at least I'd be able to do it myself which is a point of pride.
I don't have a multi meter but with the amount of car work I do I'm thinking it may be time to invest in one of those as well. The codes on the CEL were, in fact, the o2 sensors. I checked them out with my personal scanner before i bought the car. Both upstream and Down stream. But it's funny you mention that because, obviously, it's a talked about subject and I was going to dive into that problem after the lights are off. Man is that ever annoying.
