If the Magnasteer fails can it cause the steering to become very sloppy at higher speeds?? On the car in question the steering wheel has to move almost 1 inch before it seems to have any effect making the car scary to drive. The rack assembly, the control arms, the wheel hubs, the struts, and the rear window have all been changed without correcting the problem.

sounds like trapped air in the system that can't find its way out. Make sure your fluid lines aren't kinked.
Also check the bolt that holds the steering shaft on the steering box. I accidently left mine not all the way tight, and it had a dead spot for about 1/8 of the steering wheel turn.
