Driver's Side Door Latch
I just replaced mine!
The service manual for the 2008 doesn't shed much light on it, and the two YouTube vids I found only gave vague direction.
The interior panel it hides under is pinned at the floor by the sill carpet retainer and at the top by the panel that has the speaker grill and seatbelt opening. That panel is, in turn, pinned by the halo liner.
Five of those abominable push pins will give their lives in this repair.
The GM part number is 15762170. $5.50 each.
Lowe's has the identical part from Hillman (p/n 881201) in two packs for 80¢.
Once you have all the panels out of the way, the vids are much clearer.
Be aware that the natural way of holding the latch when removing the cover to access the cables will cause the thing to flip open and the cables to disconnect. Make note of which one goes where before removing those screws!
