No kids, just a wife and I don't think she would drive it with out saying anything. I don't know. Maybe it happened as I was backing in garage or as soon as I turned it off.
No, absolutely no signs of breakage. No knocking, no abnormal noises from the engine. Just the check engine light but it was for wheel sensors. Still performed as it did any other day.
It would not take much if the spring broke, hung the valve open and the valve head snapped off poking a hole in the piston. Springs break in LS's, and a few have in our lab, but none had broken a valve head. Very strange, maybe it happened right at shutdown.
