at what temp does the ECU start pulling timing?

when motor temps start rising (road racing) at what water temp does the computer start pulling timing to reduce power, to reduce temps/ save the motor?

anyone know?

Your tuner may have raised the threshold for ECT timing reduction.

So the ECM only retards timing based on the coolant temp ? The IAT has no effect on timing at all ?

The ECM can either add or retard spark based on temps. It adds spark when either ECT or IAT are cold and take away spark when Hot. The values in the tables that show negative numbers (minus sign) take away spark for that temp and values that show positive numbers add spark. Here's the IAT spark table, again for the same 2012 LS3 base c6 which always removes spark for high IATs

Pat , the OP asked what Coolant temp did the ECM start pulling timing .... so Phil posted the Coolant table . caught me the first time I read it also ....lol

the ECM will pull timing also if the intake air is hot according to the IAT table
