Default Tech2 amd Used Nav Unit

I ordered my Tech 2 today from chinacardiags.com. I'll provide updates in the coming days regarding my experience with this vendor. I will be using it to to install/program a used nav unit in my 2011 Coupe (3LT).

I also spoke to a Chevy dealer today and he indicated that the Tech 2 didn't have the ability to override a Nav unit that already had a VIN programmed. In other words, a previously installed Nav unit. He said he could definitely program the nav with my vin number if the unit was new, never before installed.

Based on everything I've read here, these statements do not seem accurate.

It appears that all I have to do is use the Tech 2 to place the used nav into relearn mode and follow some additional steps and I'll be good to go.

That is correct. The tech 2 can get you going in no time. Some dealers are a little over the top. The guy who purchased my Nav system took it to the dealer to have it programmed and they had me send my vin number over to ensure it wasn't a ripped off head unit. Make sure you follow the procedure properly and do not update the firmware. This can brick some of the units.

In for updates.
I am looking forward to the OP's product/vendor review and programming success story.

I'm also very interested in the OP's experiences with acquiring a Tech II .

A year or so - a number of posts indicated that they had good luck with Tech II's bought thru Car U Care - but that site seems to have disappeared (never a good sign).

I bought two navigation for my car which never had a navigation before, they were both used, I had both anti theft lock removed without using a tech11, the dealers don't know ****, they told me they was going to charge $150.00 and had to make an appointment which was a two weeks waiting period, called my nephew, he had a tool which was not a tech11 but it worked.
