I know the LS3/LS7 share the same clutch and I believe the 2007 LS2 does too. Nothing wrong with the stock clutch assembly at your HP level. However, we don't know your final HP.
If you HP increases to 500+ rwhp, then a dual disc set up would be a better choice.

2005-2006 had their own clutch. 2007 up they used a ZO6 clutch. that said a ZO6 clutch will take ALOT more then 500 RWHP.

I'm close to 400 now with exhaust n tune I'm gonna do bigger injectors fast 102/102 tea stage 2 243s 238/240 cam eps lobes ground by kip and a ati 25% ur pulley and tuning by geoff that should be more than 500 easy didn't know ZO6 clutch was in 07 seems like that should be enough for weekend warrior
I would agree that you should be near the 100 extra Hp. I ran my stock clutch for a bit with nearly 580whp back then and it held up nice. You haven`t mentioned if you drag it or not but slicks or drag radials will hurt the clutch more than the extra hp imo. I say that about 550whp is the limit or nearly anyways. the monster units are nice. I have intstalled a couple lt1-s kits. soft pedal feel but very heavy unit. I might get shot but I really liked my Zr1 kit from katech. its so inexpensive to rebuild like (500), takes slipping off the line like a champ and is a little (8lbs i think) lighter than the z06 unit. My best pass 10.14 with a 1.40 60ft was with the katech clutch. I can 1.40-1.43 all day long with that thing. The ONLY reason I moved away from it last yr was because it`s not designed to go passed 7k and i shift at 74-7500.

Thanks, good to know GM made the clutch change in 2007.
The Z06 will take more, but as it wears it might not. My oem LS3/7 clutch was slipping at 580rwhp with 62k miles. Clutch jobs are expensive, I would rather have a larger margin of error which gives you room to grow.

I had a Katech LS9x for 20k miles, drove excellent and looked new on removal. I'm keeping it for a turbo LS build for my Chevelle.
The car now has a Mantic 9000 because it was included with the engine I bought. The car seems to shift easier with it, but that may be my mind playing tricks on me. The pedal effort is slightly higher. 575rwhp.
Both of these have been excellent so far. Clutch replacement is very labor intensive, do it once and do it right. If you have the cash get a twin disc of your choosing.
