Prefer to use ls7 exhaust manifolds for half the price prob more power than the shorties the complete ls7 exhaust is even better deal can be had for around 700. and is 3 inch all the way to the mufflers.
Shorty are must likely to have a 2 1/2 inch collector which is stock size exhaust on ls2/3 engines.

Just to add, on a manual it is a complete bolt on.
It was definitely worth it for me. I have an LS2 that is full bolt on including hooker shorty headers. There is no comparison to the stockers as my pictures show. I already had corsa extremes and did not want to pay for a z06 setup, plus shipping, plus for a shop to fab them to my A4. Sound is deeper and there is a small seat of pants bump. That being said, I do also have an airaid, ported vmax tb, ported fast 102 and a cow tune so I'm sure this all helps as well. Purchased mine direct from holly during their Xmas special for $675 delivered.
My car currently has an Halltech beehive CAI and that’s it so I’m not sure I’ll get a kick in the but from the shorty’s or a Z06 system just looking for a little more pop.
Go ARH - true merge collector with venturi section, and x-pipe as close to the collector as possible -- all good things. Also, the best fitting, best construction. I bought Kooks, and while it's good, it's not as good as ARH, and if I had it to do over again... I would have bought ARH.
We do not sell the shorty headers. While they look nice and look like they will work better, in real life we do not see any worthwhile gains from them.
Grab some longtubes(ARH recommended) or put money towards something else imo.
I would still like to see a stock versus shorty dyno rwhp...as I bet the complete Z06 exhaust is worth not much more rwhp and as stated to buy/ship/install is a lot more $.

This is from a stock LS7 motor, so take it with a grain of salt, but on a chassis dyno at Katech:

The way I view it is that in general the average cost for one rwhp on a C6 is about $100... So if you get 8 rwhp for $800...sure certain mods are more bang for a buck... but to me small incremental changes that add power "and" maintain GM manners (ie.: Lingenfelter/Callaway as tuners stick to this theory but not the cost) are the way to go.
So shorty header as well at the z06 OEM manifold that does have a collector as well , is good for about 10~14HP gain.
Note, the reason that most will run with a Z06 system is that in states that you do have to do a visual smog test, the Z06 system does look OEM, and most inspectors will not pick up that the stock manifold and Cats system has been changed.
Long tube headers give a gain about 25-35HP due to the longer tube draw instead.
