For information purpose, this is what the "raw" pod looks like coming off the printer. There are very small lines, or what I call the "traditional look of additive printing". Right now, one of the ways to do away with those "lines" is to wet sand with 150, then use a primer filler, went sand that and then paint the part. Not really different than if you were to build something out of fiberglass, but a lot less sanding for sure, by a factor of 100 at least lol
I bought an SLP one , but I really like the one you made.
I've switched over to Polycarbonate filament, that stuff is awesome! supposed to hold up to 230F without distortion...evidently the only material (besides ABS) in the 3D printing world that can hold up to boiling water and be used as a cup...I figured, if the interior of my car gets to 230F, I think I'd have other concerns at this point!
I'm so excited about making my own parts that I now want a bigger printer so I could possibly make a custom console for my 68 project or simply bigger parts for other applications...and then my buddy works for a CNC place so now I'm all giddy about 3d printing parts as prototypes and mail him the cad file to have them CNC'd....but I digress lol

Mirage was kind enough to make one for my Diablo Trinity. I painted it lightly with 3m undercoat spray to add a little texture and have it blend in with the dash texture. Wrapped one end with electrical tape for a snug fit. Diablo pod installed Finished! I like where it is mounted, I have a clear view thru the windshield now as opposed to using a suction cup windshield mount.
