Is there any way to unlock the column lock? Got fresh battery it started once then locked up when I turned it off and will not start/unlock.

When you push the start button does the dash display read steering column lock, and nothing happens ?

From what I've read on here disconnecting and reconnecting the battery usually will reset it.

Qcamel,
what rhoyvald suggested would be the best way to go, mine went out under warranty and it would have been $500 at the dealer.

when the steering lock malfunctions the ECU goes in to secure mode that's why it won't start

The original is supposed to be better. It's the one that I installed over two years ago and I have not had a column lock since. Here's a link to it on ebay.
