What does Service Active Handling System Mean?
When the weather is cooler the dash indicator light illuminates and the readout says "Service Active handling System" This only happens when the weather is cooler. Once I stop and come back in 15 to 20 minutes the light is off and everything goes back to normal.
I thought the active handling system is electronic. If so how can you service it?
I'd suggest you do an "Advanced Search" from the top red bar word "Search" but here's a recent thread on it in C6 Gen. The issue that owner had is slightly different from yours with a wheel braking hard while driving. Still, the knowledgeable posts from others might help you understand a bit more.
Had warnings on 1st cold morning also. I had traction control warnings
but maybe active handling as well. Same as you, when I started the car 90 minutes later all was well. Have not seen any more warnings since.
It means "attach code reader and retrieve DTCs for more information." Seriously. I'm not being snarky, that is what it means.
There are codes stored, and the next step is to retrieve them.
We can relate stories about what ended up being the problem with our cars when we saw that message, but without the codes, it's just guessing.
To see Active Handling-related codes you'll need a fancier scan tool like a Tech 2. A $25 generic will not be able to see them and it will just report that there are no codes stored.
