It's 2007 ZO6 with 6300 miles on it and used primarily for autocross. Break away torque is normally around 110 ft. pounds, mine was around 55 ft. pounds. Has any of you racers checked your diff torque lately?

If I was a betting man, would dare to guess that someone changed out the OEM diff lube of Dextron LS Gear Oil 75W-90, part #88862624, and installed an another type lube with a higher content of either slip additive or the lube itself isntead.
Hence it not uncommon for this with the strip crowd to do this, to end up with peg leg burn out instead.
If the dif clutch packs burnt out with only 6K mile on it/ diff was filled with Dextron LS Gear Oil 75W-90, part #88862624, then you have other problems on hand, even with a lot of autocross driving.
On the other hand, if you are running something like A6 tires with huge grip and the mileage is 60K instead, then could see the diff packs wearing out in this amount of time with all the tight low speed cornering instead.

Nope, I bought the car new. I do a lot of autocrossing on R compounds. If you are doing track time you don't do as much turning as you do with autocross. I posted this because I couldn't find any information on this forum regarding break away torque. A lot of racers probably don't know what condition their diff clutch disc are in. Sure my rear tires would both spin together in a straight line but on autocross sweepers is where you find that the rear inside tires were wanting to spin and yes I run the bigger front bar.
