Default Akraprovic Exhaust fix

I posted earlier about the bracket that holds the 2 mufflers together broke. A lot of you have had this issue but it really doesn't effect performance.

I have the titanium model and as some of you have said Akrapovic created a new bracket to fix the problem. Unfortunately from making calls and emails to suppliers and the manufacturer I haven't gotten any help.

My first attempt to get the bracket welded back failed as the muffler shop did not Tig weld it and it popped right back off. I took the car to a local custom muffler shop to see if they could weld the bracket back. They stated they'd have to remove the exhaust from the car to Tig weld it. Something about tig welding had to be done in a sealed environment. $300

So I think I'm going to leave it alone for now. Just wondering has anyone else successfully fixed the bracket?

You don't need to tig weld in a sealed environment, but you can't have any breeze blowing your coverage gas ( argon) away while the weld is being made...also, if the metal that you are welding is titanium, or stainless, or carbon steel, etc, the proper filler wire needs to be used. I am sure that a "muffler" shop would not have the proper technique or skill to weld titanium
