I didn't have a problem replacing the driver side wiper blade assembly but for some reason, I can only lift the passenger side arm just a couple of inches off the windshield. Do I have to remove the arm on the passenger side to replace the wiper blade assembly? Thanks for your help.

Did you pop the hood? This may give you more room the lift the wiper arm.
No, you just change the blade with the arm near the windshield.
Why did they design it like this? Last night I thought mine was damaged, so I really damaged it by sticking a flat screwdriver into it and bending the crap out of it with not much success.

Again, what's the reason for this stupid design?
So something didnt move up all the way and you basically used force to pry it up enough to bend it. Didn't occur to you that when it just stopped that it shouldnt have gone up any further or that something was possibly not right? F'n Okies....

Thanks for the compliment. Actually I'm a Minnesotan. Been here in OK for 6 months. This did not make sense at all. I thought maybe the previous owner did something to bend it out of shape. I wanted it all the way up, so I'll use a screwdriver, hammer, drill, fencepost, brick, or whatever to move it all the way up. I thought a redneck Texan would have concurred.
Again, it didn't make sense at all why only the passenger side only comes up a few inches, so I assumed it was damaged.

Nobody has answered the question about why the stupid design.
This is the only car on the planet that I know of that has a restricted passenger wiper arm.
Is there a reason to make changing only the passenger blade more restrictive?

I actually have the same question. They are both like that on my pickup. And it does make changing the blade harder. Walmarts house brand can't even be installed.
