Default Convertible Top

Not sure if the is the correct section to ask this question; but here I go. A few months back, I bought a 2005, C6 convertible. Never having any type of a convertible before, I am not sure which is best to do. Since I have had it, I keep it in the convertible configuration under the car cover parked in my garage, driven on a limited bases.

So my question is this, is it better to keep it in this configuration or with the top up? I want to do all that I can protecting the top from damage and aging.

You are better off with the top up. If you store it with the top down you will get a lot more creases and wrinkles.

It states in the owners manual to store the car with the top up. Leaving it down for a weekend won't hurt it, but I wouldn't leave it down while stored.

I'm sure the above advice is correct. Having said that, my top stays down for most of the spring/summer/fall and it doesn't seem to hurt it. There may be more wrinkles in it when it's put up, but they tend to stretch out over time.

I store my 06 with the top raised under a cover.
