Default 2005 C6 Rear Differential Issue

I am trying to see how bad by rear differential is. The passenger side diff stub has a wobble to it. Any ideas? Below is a picture and Video.

2005; 3.15 Ratio

It needs to be rebuilt. Call Jeremy Jones at RPM transmissions. He can get you fixed up.

Cooked bearing and/or bearing race, the seal is worn out, and would dare to guess that the clutch pack is toast as well.

As for having the 2005 diff beefed up on the rebuild (stage 2 with Z06 left and right shafts), it only going to help a small amount, since the weak link of the 2005 diff is the case itself.

Thank you so much guys for the word. I figured it was shot and am about to get a low mileage used or more likely new one. My transmission started slipping too so I'm in for a holiday punch to the pockets.

Something tells me Santa doesnt deliver 3.73 or 3.42 Differentials under trees.

Does the DTE 2005 differential brace help with the weak link (differential case) issue?

Do not use the 2005 (use 2006+) case and do not use DTE (use RPM). The first is stronger and the second is more reliable. I speak from experience.

Santa does deliver from RPM but he will want a lot of cookies and milk

I would buy a 2006 up diff in the used parts section before I would spend money on 2005 diff.

Thanks all. Sorry for the late update. I ended up purchasing a used diff to fix this issue.

What ratio did you end up with?

Still with a 3.15. I didnt care to pay for the tune and couldnt find much better without breaking the bank. After getting the new transmission I was done spending money on fixes.

Sucks though because I am still troubleshooting another issue. Link to that thread below.
