LS7 Heater Hose routing
I have an LS7 I am installing in my car.
The heater hoses to my vintage air system have a shut off valve to the heater core preventing water flow unless the heater is actually turned on.
I noticed the heater hose connectors on the LS7 water pump are right at the thermostat housing.
DO I need to put a T into the system so water always flows through the heating circuit ( not to the core though ) so the water pump and thermostat function properly?
Thanks for any input!

I use this OEM valve instead. AC Delco 15-5533. https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...5533/overview/ This one is vacuum operated so you must use a vacuum switch that bleeds down when de-energized.
These two solutions are ideal when using LS engines. In the closed position when you don't want hot coolant to flow to the heater core it still allows the coolant to flow in a loop back to the waterpump heater port inlet. I prefer the vacuum operated style due to it being a OEM part available anywhere. The old Air Products part might be harder to find in the future.

GM #14102002 is from a GM truck 87-95. https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...-329/overview/
The key feature is that the vacuum must bleed down when de-energized.
