Katech LS2 Head/Cam
Here's the parts breakdown:
Head/cam package
510hp*
GM Hot Cam
CNC-ported cylinder heads
Trend Pushrods
C5-R timing chain
Katech oil pump
Serialized plaque
*assuming intake/exhaust already equipped
Bonus question: at what level of work or parts do people feel it's appropriate to swap out the valve covers for a branded pair, such as Katech, Lingenfelter, Callaway etc?
Are you sure that is was not the cam sprocket bolts that came loose, and allowed the cam to walk backwards isntead?
As for cams, the higher the lift, the more radial the lobs, the sooner you will be replacing valve spring isntead. Also on some high lift radical lobs, then are murder on the lifter rollers as well.
So really, narrow it down to what duration you want in mileage on how soon you going to needed to get back into the motor to service the top end instead. if say 20~30K, the moon is yours with wild HP, while if your looking for say 100K or more before you have to get back into top end, this is going to limit you way more instead.
As for the GM hot cam,

Which leads into me picking a cam too fast and I had already gone with the hot cam out of cost and time constraints, and also that katech package. Looks like it will be a touch better than stock, but I might have missed the forced opportunity to get a nice H/C/I setup going for the car this winter.
