Default c6 needs clutch

Hi Guys,

Any recommendations on a clutch for my 2008 C6? It has just shy of 485rwhp. I see a lot of choices out there but I'm a bit unsure about which type to go with. I was thinking that maybe I need a dual disc or a clutch that's more towards the racing application but I'm really not sure. Actually the stock clutch that's in it now has performed pretty well. I don't really race the car or push it hard off the line very often but I want to make sure that if I do the clutch will hold. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Standard replacement clutch for the LS2 and 3, is now the clutch for the LS7. Hence clutch will hold 600hp, while at the same time easy to slip and drive as well.

If your looking for a clutch that will hold more HP, but just as easy to slip and drive, then the LS-9 clutch kit. On this kit that will hold up to 700hp, you get a LS-9 clutch kit and slave, but a LS flywheel this is drilled to work with the LS9 clutch (will not bolt onto the LS2 and LS3 OEM flywheel). As for flywheels, you can get the lightened flywheel which will give you more HP with the LS-9 kit, but since it lighter, easier to stall the motor when you are engaging the clutch instead.

Now moving away from the OEM clutchs, you get into the clutches that will hold 1K HP or more, but some are not as easy to slip, some take more pedal pressure to use, as well as some making noise when you are clutch out in neutral at a stop light instead.

Truth is, if you don't have much time behind a race clutch, for street use and a dual clutch, the stock LS-9 is a very, very good clutch and very forgiving. Granted that is not going to last as long as a race clutch when being abused, but it a very easy clutch to slip for hard launches when needed instead.

If your not going to abuse the clutch, then the stock LS-7 clutch has you covered instead.

Lt1/4 clutch is superior to ls9. No reason to even mess with ls9 style clutches.

Choice would be easy for me given your criteria. LS7
