Default Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires?

Hey everybody, another tire question. Sorry. Has anyone run these Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires or know someone first hand who has? Manufacturer claims big things, but which one doesn't. Going on a automatic 2012 GS, primarily street and mountain roads would be the target driving use. Thanks!

I’m interested as well. I went to Firestone and they couldn’t even get the tires for me. I’d have to get them from NTB or Tire rack I guess.

There are a couple posts about them. Consensus is they are a pretty decent tire, especially for the cost.

Very good tire. No problem with wear and excellent in the wet. Satisfied with the ride and not noisy. A good overall value.

I am running the older version of the Indy 500 tires, and they are the best all around tire IMO. They are quiet, great wet and dry traction, no hydroplaning on standing water and have very good wear. I replaced ny GY F1 tires with these, and on my 3rd set.
The thread pattern is very different on the new style, so I'm also interested in any feedback relating to dry and wet traction, hydroplaning and quiet ride, and thread wear.

Thanks

I've run them for a while and that's my feeling too.

This sums it up perfectly. Not the stickiest tire out there for sure but for just cruising around and going through some twisty roads for fun they work great. For the money they work awesome.

They are not the proper load range for a Z51. Not runflats, Firestone dealer did not recommend them for my car because of load range. Check your present tire load range to help with your decision.

I had the Firestone RFT's on my 18/19 wheel package. Stepped up to 19/20 with Michelin Pilot all seasons and the Firestones' were quieter .

The Firestones have a higher load range than the OEM Goodyears. They will be perfectly fine.

Firestone, from what I can gather, will only recommend a Run-Flat tire as a replacement for the Corvette since it came with run-flats from the factory. If you go or call anyone else they will happily recommend and/or sell you a tire that is not a run-flat.
