LPE GT21 installed and dyno numbers ls7
Well finally got the lingenfelter gt 21 in and took it to the dyno. Was expecting some big numbers . But to my disappointment the numbers were bad........I made sure everything was done correctly all parts were close to the same.... Bigger fast intake and tb so figured this cam would like that.....original cam numbers 236/252 113+4 604/624 felt the lift was too low 525/510trq lpes cam 243/259 +0 691/702 lol same dyno heres the numbers 512/444trq ...Man all I could do was be sick the numbers sucked........and I had spent $ 2000 getting every thing right.......I know I have an automatic but damn..........Now took it home and happen to just tap the throttle and it acted like it made 600 hp... So now im confused,,,,,,, it shouldn't run that good with those small numbers........ Well its Friday and before I tie my courage and pull it out to send it back .. Im takeing it to the track , The clock wont lie..... small cam ran 10.21 @ 131.50 Will let you guys know what it runs.........The only thing we didn't do was degree the cam in.. But ive always put cams in without degreeing them in the car.....lol and never had any problems what so ever.........On the street cam sounds like a monster acts like a monster.... Lets see if I have a monster or just one in disguise.....will post tonight the track numbers

Track results
Well when people say dynos sometimes lie in my case it did..Tonight was the first time out to test lpe gt21 First pass went 10.25 @133.35 spinning in first gear....Not too shabby for a weak dyno number.... I made a third pass since leaving at 2200rpm was where the smaller cam ran its best at . all I did was get side ways in the 60 ft. Well my third pass was awesome. 10.12 @ 133.65 ..60 ft 1.389 well so much for a lousy number on the dyno .. I have a really good LPE GT 21 camshaft....Im recommending it to any ls7 owner... it works and its pretty good in every day traffic also..........I have a MONSTER . its real and I LOVE IT

Like you said... track #s don't lie. I don't know where you get your car dyno'd, but both cams in an LS7, even with an auto trans... seem low to me.
But 10.1 @ 133... that's getting it!

Unfortunately, you could have gone with a different cam and gotten better power with the same or better driveability. That cam has crazy lift for no reason, IMO. Plus the lobes aren't the greatest.
At least you're seeing gains at the track.

Lol
Well the in city driveablity is good no surgeing, and I went with what I thought was the best cam for me.. And not being able to get information from other builders about their cam made my decision easy. Lpe gave me all the info I needed to put this cam in with no problems. and im enjoying it Not too Many N/A corvettes that haven't been gutted can run 10:12 out their......And its still got a lot in it.......it can go 9:90 and still get 20 mph to a gallon and a/c

Camshaft
Was everything that lpe said it was,,,,,,,, they have been installing this gt21 for a while and give you a 36 month or 36 thousand mile warranty if they install it..... I had no problems with setting the shim heights on the springs, lash caps on the exhaust , and making the push rod length on the exhaust correct.......My converter loves this cam ,,,, I haven't loss any low en torque, but picked up lots of top end power..... I drive around town with it and it drives great.......lol I put 750 lift springs on to help with the 702 cam lift.. They say you have to be careful to detail every item to get this right.......... SO FAR SO GOOD

lash caps !!!
Nope lash caps on the exhaust also.... They advised to install lash caps on the exhaust to keep the rocker arms from wearing out the stem on the valve..... So instead of cutting the valve we measured the correct push rod length and installed a shorter push rod on the exhaust. a lash cap is .60 so we needed to shorten the push rod by that much...........keeping the rocker arms in the center of the stem.... worked out just fine.............intakes are the stock length and exhause are .60 shorter.........intakes come with lash caps from the factory,, so we just added them to the exhaust also

Lash caps
yES LPE SAID TO CUt the valve stem then put lash caps on, but I wasn't takeing my heads off so we measured the correct length push rod took off the height of the lash cap and went with a shorter push rod...... works just great for us and no extra work pulling heads and cutting valve stems...............Now lash caps on both the intake and the exhaust...........

springs
Pac's 750 lift 1209x are in between what LPE suggest ,,Slightly bigger than the ferra's and almost the same as their lsx.. I been running pac's since I built my ls7........

Cool
Just curious I have a custom cam that fits between a gt19 & gt21 cam
I orig had btr660 springs in it and they couldn't control the valves as the should (float above 5800)
Ended up with the ferrea springs from LPE and made power to 7000
