I have a 2008 Corvette and on Christmas Eve, I tried starting it to take it out and it wouldn't start. I could hardly get it to open up (had to use the emergency release in the trunk) and when I did, even the radio wouldn't come on. It was just dead. I got a "FOB not detected" error on the display. Over the few weeks, I would periodically try, but no luck. However, a couple weeks ago I was going to pull the battery and take it in and on a whim decided to try it again. It started right up and was just fine.
I drove it to AutoZone and they tested the battery and it had 90% charge and no corrosion or anything detected. It was very strange.
It recently got a little colder again and I tried to start it up today and it's dead again. I get the same "FOB not detected" error. I am pretty confused as to what is causing this. It is only happening when the weather gets cold, but I've never heard of a battery coming back to life without jumping/charging it first.
What else could be causing this? The battery in the FOB itself was replaced in September 2017, so I don't think the battery is an issue.. Any thoughts!?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Well, literally 4 hours later I get home and for the heck of it, I tried to start it and it worked just fine. I have no idea what in the world is going on with this car..

Do you have a second fob? What happens when you use it? Have you tried putting the fob in the glove box slot when you get the "no fob detected" message? If it starts every time doing that then it's definitely a fob battery problem. Change the fob battery again. Being "new" 4 months ago doesn't mean it was at full capacity 4 months ago.

I do not have a second fob. My car started up a couple hours earlier, so that's very strange. It seems like it's only an issue when weather gets colder.
mine does same thing every time it gets cold. both fobs say no fob detected. doors wont open without cable in rear then dont start with out glove box slot. only when it gets cold other wise it works fine.
