06 z51 brakes
Just wanted to get peoples opinion on my brake setup, I noticed the other day that my brake pad on the rear was not contacting the whole surface of the rotor, I was able to dig up an old picture of the car with the brakes that came on it originally and they are not like that. My setup now is from powerstop and I believe I ordered them for a z51, everything bolts together fine and I probably have 5k miles on them and haven't noticed negative effects. The car does not stop well until there is some heat in the brakes, dont know if that is a by product of the pad compound. Per the Vin it calls for j55 brakes which is the heavy duty but does not state the rotor diameter and it looks like there are a few options available for that. Let me know your thoughts, Thanks!

Burning Brakes
Normal for J55(Z51 brakes).
The rotor is larger diameter than the base brakes but the actual brake pad size and swept area are the same. GM Basically just moved the swept area of the rotor outwards 0.4" without putting larger calipers and pads to completely sweep the brake rotor surface.
