Boost-a-pump Question
If you ran the correct gauge wire to it (through the relay with fuse in line) from the battery, and you are running the correct gauge wire to the fuel pump out of the BAP, and only using the Engine bay relay wire to the control to trigger it via an additional relay, then it does not get that hot when working cleanly/coolly.
Note, you are over voltaging the oem fuel pump to spin it faster, so on that note, the fuel in the tank is being used to cool the OEM fuel pump, and best to not take the fuel in the drivers tank/ the fuel gauge under 1/4 full.

Note, old relay is the one in the engine bay, and is used to control the new relay that you are going to add in line instead.
On the other hand, if you are choking it with what is needs for power into the pump with too small gauge of wire, and then the power to the fuel pump by trying to run the unit on the cars OEM fuel pump wiring as well, not only is the unit going to get hot, but the cars OEM wires as well. Hence screw the BAP, and it will be the OEM wiring that over heat and catches on fire to burn the car to the ground isntead.
