Mag-ride controller?
Go over the tracks at a good clip in tour mode, then do the same in sports mode.
Hence the sports mode setting firms the shocks up just a touch, and it take something like RR tracks to get a real quick feeling of the two settings. What the MRC system is not going to do, is firm the car up to say a Z51 or Z06 type firmness when set in Sports mode instead.
As for if you think that the F55 system is stuck in sports mode, put a Tech II on the car, and check the BCM to confirm that the dial is changing the BCM readout setting from tour to sports mode. Hence dial is connected to the BCM, which then send the signal to the F55 module on which setting it function in.

From there, F55 module data to double check it. Hence wheel level should each have a reading around 1.8 volts with the car level, and should not show any DTC cords for a short connector not connected or wire broken to each shock. Back to the level sensor readings, if someone did slam the car on the height lifters, did not readjust the level sensors this will cause problem. So when you are checking level sensors with the car on level ground, all the sensors should be reading the same voltage. If they are not, then time to have the car 4 corner balanced first, then the level sensors readjusted so they are all reading the same output voltage.
Note the lower the car is in a corner, the higher the sensor output voltage will read. So if the car was slammed via the ride height sensors, your going to have higher rear sensor voltages, and the car need to be first re corner balanced, which should being the sensor voltages back in check isntead.
Also, if the F55 module does have problem itself, it should be throwing DTC codes.
One last thing on the F55 cars, get under the car, and check the shocks for shipping pucks that did not get removed before the car was originally sold new.
Hence the pucks are used when the car is first shipped from the factory to the dealeer since the car is tied down via the lift points on the frame, and the pukes allow the car to be pulled down tight about midway travel on the shocks. After the car is unloaded and being prep'd to be sold by the dealer, the pucks are supposed to be removed, but finding out a lot of dealer techs missing removing then isntead.
