Default Tires for a 2012 Grand Sport

I am new to this forum so I hope i'm in the right place.I'm getting ready to replace the original F-1 Eagles, I bought the car new and only have @ 7,000 miles on it. Was wondering if any one has an opinion about the Michelin Pilot Super Sport or the 4S? Also should i consider changing the TPMS sensors when I replace the tires? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I replaced my oem tires on my 2010 Grand Sport @ 9.5K miles with Bridgestone Potenza run flats which I ran for the next 17k miles. Liked the Bridgestones but recently replaced them with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports non run flats. Don't have a lot of miles on them but the ride improved and the noise level of the tires decreased. Changed tpms when I mounted the Pilot Super Sports as the original tpms were going on 8 years old. They were still working properly when I changed them.

I have Michelin Pilot Super Sport and it's the first non runflats that I've ever had on a C6 or C5. Much smoother and quieter tire than runflats.

Michelin PSS here. Second set and love them. (2013 GS)

If your pressure sensors are original, I would change them as well..
5 years is about the limit..

Any tire will be a huge improvement over the GY's...
Many are very happy with the Michelin's - any version.

I would recommend replacing the sensors.

Just for the record, I have Toyo R888 & R888R and love 'em!
They stick very well...

No need to buy new sensors they will last you a few more years...I still have the oem ones on my 2008 with 79,000 miles and they have been no problems....

I got rid of the stockers on my GS and replaced them with Michelin PS SS's in the 285 front and 345 rear sizes on the stock rims. One of the best improvements I made to that Vette. They're as quiet as a tire that wide can be. Smooth riding compared to the RF's. Handled well and really liked the wider tire look too. A little extra ground clearance was an added bonus. Living in fear of driveway entrances and speed bumps isn't for me.

I have replaced one on my 2008 with same mileage. However, next tire change I will replace them.

OP: Get the Michelin 4s, they an improved version of the Super Sport.

Replaced the GY's at 15,000 miles with Bridgestone Potenza Run Flats and had the Pfadt Street spec alignment applied. The Bridgestone's now have 27,000 miles on them and they show little signs of wear. They are quieter than the GY's and they have a smoother ride also. They are still a summer tire so you have to use caution in colder weather and because they are a fairly wide tire you have to be careful in heavy rain so you don't turn your car into a surf board (Ask me how I know).

I have the Hankooks. I ordered Michelin PSS only to be told they were discontinued and the replacement for them was not available for the fronts. I was leery about Michelin anyway with the national backorder talk always coming up. I have been pleased with the Hankooks.

There were Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires on mine when I picked it up last August... it says Zero Pressure on the sidewall after the description, so have to assume that these are runflats... I'll have to replace the fronts, as the typical stock alignment inside tread wear is showing, & I've only put about 2500 miles on it since...
