LS2 specific question
Does anyone know if there is a filter/screen under the oil pressure sensor? In the earlier LS engines there was.
I read somewhere sometime between 05-08 it was removed, possibly prior to the LS2 production. This statement has never been authenticated.

Over the winter I tore down my ls2 from my 07 vette.
I wasn’t looking for one but I didn’t notice any screen under the oil pressure sensor.
I’m kind of courious though, Why do you ask?

My 05 LS2 did not have a screen in it, interesting.

I'm just thinking outloud. The ones previously removed from the truck 5.3 and ls1/ls6 resemble a small straining basket that we're recessed by ~.750 deep. If you were not aware it was below, you may not catch it.
