What is minimum oil temperature for higher rpms
“Safe minimum running oil temp” I’m guessing when I say 160F before running my LS7 higher rpms. I’ve always took it easy until 175F. So gear heads what is your opinion what my oil temp should be before I lean into “it”. My tuner installed a 160 stat
And on days of mid 40s it takes awhile to get my oil temp up. Mobil 1
0-40 euro oil is the oil suggested. Thanks

I like to see min 160*...usually 170* before I put my foot down.

C6 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
As a general rule, I limit myself to 3,000 RPM until my long term experience tells me it's warm enough to go more. With the exception of a couple race cars and my C6, I never had an oil temp gauge in a DD.
At the drags, I prefer something in the 210-230 range for oil, 175-190 coolant, and 165-185 for A6 trans.

One of the main reasons I upgraded my '09 C6Z to a ZR1 radiator and oil cooler setup...it actually heats the oil to operating temps so much quicker. Even when I was living in SoCal, there were plenty of drives where my oil never even got to 175*. Finally had enough of that...fixed the heads with AHP MS90 guides (14/16 were bad), and solved the cold oil issue at the same time.

I try to get it over 150*F oil temp first, but doesn't always happen. Haven't had any issues though. Getting close to 200K miles.
