Default Parasitic draw on electrical

My friend has a 2007 convertible with the standard shift. It seems I remember there was a problem with a parasitic draw unless your vehicle was parked and left in reverse. Am I remembering this correctly?

Where there any other issues with parasitic draw on standard transmissions, or the ‘07 C6 in general?

I believe leaving it in reverse is for 2005 only.

Only the 05 has to be in reverse to shut the car down/the modules to go into sleep mode.

Hence it the only model that will give you the shift to reverse on shut down before the modules do a full sleep mode.

As for a Parasitic draw test, if no after market parts, then a tech II and multi meter makes short work of such to start with, since you can use the tool to put each module into sleep mode to start with. The multi meter is run in amp mode with the postive battery cable run through it, and your looking for 450ma in the end with all the module shut down.

If the car has on star, but he does not have a subscription for it, then pull the onstar module and leave it out, as well as doing a jumper through the VCIM module since you want it out of play as well. Hence on star loved to call home at odd hours, even when you don't have a subscription to it, and will keep trying until it does connect with onstar, Hence you can do the module sleep mode and the modules such down to give you that 450ma draw at sleep, but that night, the on star module (and other needed modules) will wake up to try to call home again.

If he has after market items, then if they are working correctly, should still end up at 450ma draw with all them and the Oem modules in sleep mode. If not, then your back to pulling fuses one at a time until you find the device/module that is causing the excess draw isntead.
