2008 Traction Control Service message
2008 Z51 Coupe, 5000 miles, traction control service and engine check light (image of engine). Code readout: cylinder 1 misfire. Pulled spark plug, no damage noted. Placed spark plug against exhaust manifold & ran engine momentary. Spark plug fired. But, do not let this fool you to believe that the spark plug is good !! Reinstalled spark plug and went on to trouble shoot the fuel injector. Removed fuel injector, very easy....5 minutes, fuel injector clean, bench tested good with a small battery. Still no help, engine misfire. Ordered new fuell injector, $54.00, no help. Put a volt test meter on the number one fuel injector connector, power good. The number one fuel injector connector will barley reached the number three fuel injector if you don't have a voltage meter. Engine idle rpm will increase when the connector is plugged onto the fuel injector. Back to the spark plug, replaced number one cylinder spark plug and no misfire. No codes, all is good.
