Intermittent starting problem
It generally runs like a thoroughbred. However, on occasion it won’t start...won’t turn over at all. Completely arbitrary on when this might happen.
Yesterday I backed the car out of the garage, shut it down to get out and close the garage door (I have the newer visor mounted opener and have yet to find the secret to programming it to my Chamberlain opener) and when I got back in the car and pressed the start button, nothing but a CEL. DIC showed 12.6v. Multimeter on the battery showed 13.5v. I checked fuses, fiddled with the ground cable and went thru the starting procedure again (put tranny in reverse, back to neutral, press clutch pedal, press start button). Nothing. Dead.
Grabbed a 10mm socket and disconnected the ground cable from the battery. Left it off for about 20 seconds and reconnected. VOILA. She starts!
Thus far, this has only happened in my garage or driveway but my fear is it happening elsewhere. Don’t want to be in the habit of carrying a small toolkit with me (my days of driving and fixing Triumph Spitfires are long gone).

I keep a 10mm wrench in the center console now
doesnt happen often when it does I just disconnect the battery for a few seconds. I forgot
the code but I believe it's for the throttle body. I doubt it's the throttle body I replaced it for a new ported one but I still have the intermittent starting problem
