Hi from Costa Rica
I just bought my first Corvette C6 2008, (second actually, but I could never restore a C3 and ended up selling it some years ago), and I couldn’t be more excited. The car is been shipped and after paying import duties and clearing customs, I should get my hands on it by the end of July.
Being in Costa Rica there are a few things that concern me since you don’t see Corvettes on daily basis here, but the one that worries me the most are technicians… Therefore I am thinking on getting a diagnostic tool myself. That’s one item I would not spare on… I have one for my Land Rovers and have already saved me THOUSANDS! Any advise on those? There are probably threads about it but I have to dig deeper around here…
Even though I always wanted one, I’m new on the Corvette world so any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks!

An obd reader is a great tool but used primarily by mechanics must auto parts will read the trouble codes for free at list in the US not sure in C/R.
When you mess with the car new to you is the time to find trouble mainly for leaving something disconnected or improper connection like a plug not pushed in far enough.
