I've been troubleshooting my Kenwood CMOS 130 as it's not working. I currently have it connected to my reverse light but it's not functioning. Tech support at Kenwood has encouraged me to connect the camera to an accessory wire on my 06. Does anyone know of an accessory wire located in the rear of my 06?
I don't know of any accessory wiring in the rear other than the interior lights. I hooked up power for my rear camera to the cigarette lighter on the console so I can turn the rear camera on whenever I want to. At the very least for troubleshooting your camera, why not buy a cigarette lighter adapter for temporary power?

My particular camera has a very short ground and power wire. I guess I will have to extend the wire regardless so that maybe my next move.
My power and ground wires were short too, I picked up my ground at the hatch latching mechanism, and extended the power wire and ran that along with the video signal wire.
When I wired mine in the cable came with a breakout power wire that was only a few inches long. Seems like that was the trigger wire. Hooked that to reverse lights. Ground to ground at the back.
I connected the 3" wire at the other end of the cable to power in the dash/stereo area. It's been a while but that's what I remember. Seemed unintuitive to me.
Just to clarify your original post. Is the whole head unit not working or just the reverse camera?
It's the reverse Camera thats not working. I just connected the Camera power wire to the cigarette plug and still no go--just a black screen with the parking assist lines. Guys, does anyone know if the cigarette power is always hot or only when the accessory mode/car is on? I don't want to have battery issues.
