Fuel Tank: Can fill only 7 gals
2011 Grand Sport 24,000 miles
Greetings:
On the last two fill-ups, I've only been able to put seven gallons of gas in the tank. After seven gallons, I have to fill it v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.
Any ideas?

Check for any EVAP codes first. Also see if the scan tool has bi-directional controls. If it does, try to cycle the vent solenoid. You should be able to at least hear it cycle, not a 100% guarantee that it's not plugged though. Certainly if you hear nothing at all, it'll require further troubleshooting. Let us know what you find.

You didn't say what happens after 7 gallons. Does the pump handle click off? If so, try turning it 45° so the pump handle is horizontal instead of vertical.

And just to be a jerk, you have to rotate 90 degrees to go from vertical to horizontal. Sorry EV.

Yep, I hang onto the nozzle, keep the back hose part of the nozzle point at the back of the car, and fill the car with about middle handle position of the nozzle.
Done this way, when the nozzle shuts off, both tanks are full, and you don't want to play lets get a few more drops in on a second handle pull, since your going to be wearing fuel since the tanks are full and the fuel is going to come rushing out of the filler quickly to over flow instead.
Hence tanks are configure like this,
So the driver tank is the first tank that gets filled, and with the nozzle aimed to the side, as the drivers tank start to fill up, the sideways nozzle allows the driver tank fuel to flow through the cross over tube to fill the second tank before the nozzle kicks off when the tanks are both full.
With the nozzle aimed downward in the fill port, it can fuel pressure air lock the cross over tube and not allow the fuel to flow cleanly to the passenger tank as the drivers tank is almost full isntead.
Also to point out, the fuel in the passenger tank is used first, then the fuel in the drivers side tank is used last. So if the fuel gauge reads half full, the passenger tank is empty, and now your pulling fuel from the driver tank (kind of, since the fuel pump is in the drivers tank and the passenger side use a venture pump on that tank, driven by fuel pressure from the drivers tank fuel pump to pull the fuel out of the passengers tank).

I had this problem too. I opened the left rear quarter panel, for easy'ish access to the fill pipe. The rubber hose from the fill opening to the tank seemed slightly distorted.
So I had an idea...I put two or three hose clamps around the rubber fill tube distortion - to force the tube back to circular and hence, that removed the distortion. Immediately the gas flow works beautifully! I did this fix about a year or two ago...no more fuel fill problems.
Easy fix...no removing the tank or hose...and then you can clean what's in the bottom of the quarter panel...for me there was a BLOCK of heavy compacted dirt.
