427 Convertible hot start starter issues

427 Convertible hot start starter issues
My 427 Convertible starts great with no noise when cold. If hot, the starter is slow in turning over and makes a loud pop prior to engine start. Is this a heat soak problem or something else? Appreciate your input-thanks.
