Is this the new upgraded part after the recall for C6 Corvettes?
Master Cylinder - GM (19331708)
Yes, and it should have the black tanks (not white/clear like the old ones) ,and the tank cover should have Dot 4 on it.
As for the master, if you have problems with it and the car is still covered under the GM TSB hence newer than 10 year old, then have GM replace it for free.
What the old pre updated master will look like, just incase you receiver the old style, although ordered the new style one.
Note the tank and cap is not the update of the master, but more of a marker to make sure you do receiver the updated unit isntead.
The real update on the master, was the end seal plunger cap on the end rod that would pop off on the old style units isntead. Attachment 48341326
Awesome man thanks ! The car is a 2012 and I heard that part was covered for 10 years but I"ll find out in the next few days what the Chevy dealer says. I hope it's JUST the master cylinder and not that plastic support item in the slave cylinder.

If the problem is the master, then the pedal should be stuck to the floor. Hence end plunger pops off, and the clutch pedal assist spring will keep it to the floor.
If its the not the master, and you do have fluid in the tank, then the pedal should not be stuck to the floor. Hence even with melting the platic slave Bearing race most of the way, most off the time the TB still has enough clutch finger spring pressure to at least back pressure the system to get the pedal back up past the half way point of the assist spring pushing the clutch downward, and allows the pedal to snap back up on it own instead.
At least most of the time, unless you just melted the TB race this far down instead.
P.S, got to love all the value engineering with plastic parts so GM could save a buck on the production of the car. The master cylinder begin ID platic walled is bad enough, but to use plastic parts for a TB race, that is just a part with planned product obsolescence to begin with.
If you need to replace the slave, replace the plastic support with an aluminum one from Monster Clutches.
Are there any performance issues with this part? Does it induce any Noise, vibrations or harshness? This is a fun car occasional daily driver for me, not a track car. I had a 2007 Mustang GT once that I installed an aftermarket clutch (Exedy 500) , pressure plate and flywheel in and it would chatter on engagement. The clutch worked fine but it really pissed me off that it sounded that way. I'd hate to install something like this only to discover later it had unwanted side effects.
