Hi all,
My blower motor sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. The motor isn't making any noise and works fine on all settings when it turns on. However after it sits overnight or longer than few hours the blower motor might not kick on. Ac works and the clutch engages for the a.c.
Is there a relay issue Where it can sometimes work? If it was the resistor wouldn't it not work at all?
So far right, second one up on the BCM itself, and the over to the left one row and one up from that one is the second fuse.
Short of this, may be time to pull the HCAC controller to check for a cold solder joint, or may even have to pull the fan motor to see if it's binding up, and popping it thermal fuse/it relay is dying instead.
I pulled the fuses they are fine. It so odd that it'll work sometimes and then other times just noy even kick on. How hard is it to pull out the relay? Is it a whole dash tear down? Please say no... Can you get to the relay but just removing it under the dash and leaving the fan motor there?
Update.... I tapped the blower motor and it kicked on? Is that a relay? Or motor issue? Also... How terrible is that too replace.... Worse than when I replaced my master cylinder and booster?

Start with disconnecting the fan connector, cleaning it, and see if the problem is there. If not, then the fun had by all is about to begin to get the fan out to begin with.
Also, are you sure that it was the shock to the fan bottom, and not the HVAC controller that solved the problem to get the fan spinning again?
