Default Issues pumping gas

While filling up the last few times, the pump would stop prematurely making it a pita to fill up. If I pressed the handle more then half way it seemed the pump would randomly cut off. What's causing this? Common issue? Thanks folks?

I've been having trouble too. I just got mine and it's been like that ever since. I'm sure it's not normal and I thought I read a post on here before about it. I'll keep searching and let know if I find it.

I have had my C6 for 4 years now. Because of the two tanks, I put the pump on slow feed and let the pump shut
off the fuel flow. I have never had a problem with mine. Maybe try another gas station or go slow on the fuel delivery.

Keep the back of the gas pump nozzle hose section pointed at the back car (nozzle sideways), and when the nozzle kicks off, the tanks will be full.

Depending upon the flow rate from a particular station pump, fuel may flow faster than the crossover pipe between the tanks can handle, resulting in a back-flow & shut-off. Set the fuel nozzle at the half way point & you shouldn't have a problem although yes, it will take a bit longer to fill the tank(s).

Not really a flow rate of the pump probem, the direction that the fuel is sent down the fill hose to the tank isntead.

Hence with the nozzle pointed down into the fill part of the tank like you normally fill a car, this creates a splash wave of fuel in the drivers tank once it filled up first, and causes problems with the fuel flowing cleanly to the passengers tank through the cross over tube instead.

So the pump nozzle is not held like the below photo to fill the car, but rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise so the hose part is facing the back of the car.

I am pleased to say that Dano's method works! Pump no longer shuts off prematurely. Thanks again Dano!

I just put the nozzle in, set the auto feature to max, and let it fill up and cut-off. Never a problem and get a complete fill-up. Is this just a problem for some cars? If it is, logic would say that there is something amiss in these cars or everyone would have this problem. I've made several road trips using different gas brands and no problem.

I just set the nozzle on the low notch. It takes a little longer to fill, which gives me time to clean windows and check out the babes at the gas station.

i noticed the fuel spills out if i let it go on full. I hold it full for half, then finish at the low speed.
