over the weekend took my C6 out. It did great. While pulling out of a parking lot at about 5-10 mph service traction control light came on and it also triggered the check engine light. The traction control light went off after about 60 seconds but the engine light didn’t. Tried to read with code reader and it wouldn’t read. Only way to get check engine light to go off was to pull the battery terminal for a few minutes. Anyone else having this issue. And what do I need serviced on the traction control.
Shot in the dark, but make sure all of your spark plug wires are snug on both ends. Happens often that they come loose and cause the symptoms you described
New 23 Z51 with 1700 miles. Tried LC for the first time today, manual shifting. Loss of traction 2nd gear, power reduction and CEL light on right away. I am thinking leave it in auto to help avoid rpm limiter, will clear the code and recheck all fluids before attempting again.
May be something different on yours, but here's what I did. The service traction control message and ABS ((little yellow skidding car) icon appeared on the DIC of my 2006 A6 with 49k miles. I cleared the message per the owner's manual, but the ABS icon was still there. I disconnected the negative battery cable. I waited about 10 minutes. Reconnected the negative battery terminal. Tightened both the positive and negative connections. Started the car and the ABS light and message were gone. Hasn't come back for 1 month. Good luck.
PS - I also decided to connect my trickle charger full time. Even though the battery is less than 1 years old, I thought it is not a bad idea to maintain a full charge.
