After walking around Lime Rock a few weeks back, I was surprised to see how many people were running an aftermarket seat. So I ordered a Corbeau Forza cloth fixed back seat and debated on whether or not to install. Considered selling the seat off or returning it to the vendor I ordered from (I find the factory seats to be pretty comfy so I was second guessing my decision) . So I went for a 45 min ride today visiting family with a nice mix of highway and country roads and I couldn’t get over how awful my stock c6 seats are in my 09. The foam on the seat bottom is worn and completely flat so what little bolstering that was there originally is now gone. I was able to corner much harder in my wrx.
So when I got home today I installed the forza. A little harder to get into the car, but the seat feels great and offers a lot of support. No issues with fitment. I will take it out tmrw for its first ride. Only downside is that I feel the cloth used in the seat is not gm oem quality.
Just thought I will pass along this setup, since it is fairly cheap.
Although I hope your happy with the new seat, but if it doesn't work out in the long term, consider this:
It looks like the problem boils down to three things.
1. Your OEM seat is the base seat that never had as much body control as the sport seats.
2. The method of ingress/egress you use.
3. The size of the body you put in the seat.
You can fix #1 with a new sport seat cover and foam or simply do a swap with used seats. Add a vinyl placemat between the wires and foam either way.
#2 can be fixed by changing your method to how you're forced to do with the Corbeau seat.
But I can't help you with #3.
